The bike, the weather, the time trial, the athlete: these are the elements of the Coupe d'Europe des Grimpeurs Tremola San Gottardo that debuts on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
This time trial will mark a before and after in the history of cycling. It will be the first race with gender prize parity and the first competition without combustion engines. Filming will be done with drones, bikes or electric motorcycles.
In addition, the organization will emphasize the good things produced in the Gotthard region. Products that will be prepared and served during the event.
The competition:
A time trial that will give the best amateurs the opportunity to challenge their favourite cyclists, after they finished the Tour de France and preparing for the Vuelta. For the pros it will be an opportunity to acquire important points in a UCI 1.1S classified competition.

La Tremola
Beautiful and daring. The cobblestone road that connects Airolo (1175 m a.s.l.) to the St. Gotthard Pass (2106 m a.s.l.), in its most spectacular section twists and turns, overcoming 300 meters of altitude difference in 4 kilometers of development.
The road that every cyclist would like to travel at least once in his or her life, was built between 1828 and 1832 by the Ticino engineer Francesco Meschini as a strada bianca, and was then covered with cobblestones at the beginning of the 1940s.
The toponyms testify to the importance that this connection has had in the past for the local population, in fact every turn has a name.
